2022 International Geography Championships
IAC’s next big event after the 2022 US National Championships concludes will be the 2022 International Geography Championships, being held from July 3-10 at the University of Vermont in Burlington, with a full-day trip to Montreal on July 7. Come join over 125 students from around the world who share a love of geography for a week of competitions, field trips, and other activities. Sign up runs through June 22 here. You can qualify by having finished in the top 25% of students in the International Geography Bee Regional Finals or in the top 50% of students in the US Geography Championships or the International Geography Bee at Nationals.
2022 International History Olympiad
The 4th International History Olympiad will be held in Princeton and New York City from July 25-August 1. Nearly 200 students are expected to attend from around the world for a week of quiz competitions, other competitions, field trips (including the gala closing ceremonies on the USS Intrepid!) and lots more. Sign up through June 25 here on the Olympiad website. You can qualify for the International History Olympiad by finishing either in the top 25% of the National History Bee Regional Finals or by finishing in the top 50% at Nationals in the National History Bee.

2023 IAC Summer Camps in Italy and Canada
IAC is thrilled to announce that it will be holding summer quiz bowl camps in Quebec City, Canada and in the hills outside of Rome, Italy in Summer 2023! These two camps will feature practice play, tournament play, coaching sessions, and lecture classes and run for 5 days prior to the 2023 International History Olympiad and the 2023 International Latin Olympiad. For those who are planning on competing in the Latin Olympiad, the camp in Italy will have a special Latin review session to prepare students for ILO. But there will also be instruction and focus on science, geography, history, literature, and fine arts classes at each camp too. More information, including the dates, exact locations, costs, and registration links will be forthcoming by October.
2023 International Latin Olympiad
IAC is delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural International Latin Olympiad from July 24-30, 2023 in Rome, Italy! Students will stay and compete at St. Stephen’s School, a boarding school that is a stone’s throw from the Circus Maximus in the heart of the Eternal City. Field trips, archaeological digs, a Roman banquet in togas, competing inside the Coliseum, and lots of competitions will make for an incredible week – details are available here. Students can qualify through an Online Qualifying Exam, success in the National Latin Exam, or IAC’s new online International Latin Bee in early 2023. The International Latin Olympiad is planned to be held every two years thereafter in Rome, so students will also have a chance to compete in 2025, 2027, etc.
2023 International Polish Cultural Olympiad
IAC Polska invites the world to the inaugural 2023 International Polish Cultural Olympiad! IAC will be working together with the Polish government and various Polish-American friendship societies to bring families from around the world a unique window into one of Europe’s most fascinating countries. Come and discover the history, geography, and culture of Poland with lots of competitions, behind the scenes field trips, and a chance to interact with dignitaries and students from Poland. No knowledge of Polish is required! We’ll teach you the basics – along with how to bake a great pierogi, dance a mazurka, feel at home in a Baroque Palace, converse with members of the Polish government about Poland’s role as a strategically central country in world affairs, etc. Do zobaczenia pózniej in Warsaw in 2023!
2023 International Environmental Science Olympiad
IAC Ecuador welcomes the world to the inaugural 2023 International Environmental Science Olympiad! Students who have finished in the top 25% at a National Science Bee Regional Finals or who finish in the top 50% in their age division at the 2022 National Science Bee National Championships are eligible to compete. We’ll tour the colonial capital of Quito and do fieldwork in the foothills of the Andes before setting off to the Iyarina Research Station, which will be our launching point for a study of issues facing the Amazon region. The week will be a mix of fieldwork exercises, hands-on competitions, and a chance to get to know the indigenous communities whose lives are directly impacted by environmental issues. Climate change will form a major focus of the week as well. See you next year in Ecuador!
2023 International History Olympiad
IAC is delighted to announce that the International History Olympiad will return in 2023 at the Université Laval in Quebec City, Canada! Thereafter, the History Olympiad will return every other year (thus the next will be in 2025). Come and enjoy the historic sites in one of North America’s oldest and most historically significant cities. Students will compete in numerous buzzer and non-buzzer competition events and get a chance to acquaint themselves with the local French-Canadian and indigenous First Nations cultures. Exact dates, registration links, and a program website will be launched in the fall of 2022.
2024 International Geography Championships
IAC’s International Geography Championships will be traveling around the world and for the first time traveling to Latin America in July of 2024! Ecuador is the host country for IGC 2024 and will provide opportunities to the one of the most biodiverse locations of the planet, the Ecuadorian Amazon, alongside the snow-peaked mountains of the Andes and the breathtakingly unique islands of the Galapagos (penguins and all included). From learning about indigenous medicinal techniques to the history of Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, Ecuador will be an exciting location for our hundreds of students to share their love of geography. You can qualify by placing in the top 50% of students at the 2022 Nationals!
2024 International Austrian Cultural Olympiad
IAC is excited to present to you the inaugural International Austrian Cultural Olympiad debuting in the summer of 2024! With sightseeing of locations such as the homes of some of the greatest composers of the world (Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Haydn, etc.), Viennese Waltz lessons, and an Apfelstrudel bake-off compettions, IACO will have an incredible variety of cultural immersion opportunities alongside competitions and is designed in English alongside a German track for those who feel confident in their German skills. Unlike other events and foreign language Olympiads that IAC organizes, the Austrian Cultural Olympiad does not require prior qualification, and is open to students who have not yet studied German. It also is uniquely designed to have numerous activities for parents, siblings, and other friends and family members who are accompanying their children to Vienna.

2024 International French Olympiad
IAC is happy to announce our first inaugural International French Olympiad in 2024 in Quebec City, Canada, gathering the top francophiles du monde aged 12 and more. With several opportunities for students to immerse themselves into French and Quebecoise culture and language, 150 students will compete will compete at Université Laval and have field trips including a tour of the Old Town and whale watching on the Saint Lawrence River among other opportunities! 2024 International Business Olympiad
IAC is proud to announce the launch of the International Business Olympiad. Developed in consultation with prominent business leaders, Fortune 500 companies, and entrepreneurs, the IBO will bring is designed to introduce students aged 13-18 to the world of business. Particular focuses will be on ethical and sustainable business practices, as well as getting a chance to meet business leaders in an international setting. There will be forums with business leaders, business plan and management competitions, and visits with corporations, government officials, and other stakeholders. This event will likely be held either in London or Warsaw.
2025 International Spanish Olympiad
IAC Ecuador is bringing to the world the first ever International Spanish Olympiad in 2025, bringing a focus into a language with one of the largest geographic influences in the world. From Mexico to Argentina and beyond, competitions in Español will be hosted in Ecuador with insights into the development of Latin America and the Spanish language, fun activities including hiking mountains in the Andes and watching hummingbirds fly around in Mindo. With mostly all competitions being in Spanish, the International Spanish Olympiad will provide an immersive environment not only for students to test their knowledge about the language, but also return home definitely being able to speak more than when they arrived. 2025 International Art History Olympiad
IAC is in the early stages of planning for the 2025 International Art History Olympiad to be held in Italy! Come discover the treasures of the Ancient World, the Renaissance, the Baroque Age, and Modern Art in Rome, Pisa, Siena, and Florence, with an optional extension trip to Venice. Field trips; buzzer, exam, and other competitions; discussions with artists and art historians; and much more will comprise an unforgettable week. A full program will be developed for both students and parents. Qualification will be done through an exam and application process beginning in the fall of 2023.
